Ciao bodymovin,
I think that you did a really great job!! The only suggestion that I might have is to go a little heavier on weathering the vehicles and groundwork. It looks great, but the colors are so even. My compliments on a wonderful dio.
Ciao for now
Rob

looks quite good bodymovin, nice work on the figures. the trees look good too. the branches are realistic, especially lookin down onto the schwimm. i'd say to add more tall grass though. the sprigs you have look good, but more shorter ones to blend them aesthetically would help. good work!

Very nice dio, the camo is excellent, the trees are very nice. I would, as mentioned earlier, dirty up the vehicles a little more, and also place a few shorter clumos of tall grass in and around the clumps of tall grass you already have to better blend it in. Couple small things easlily fixable, and will make for an outstanding dio IMHO. Cheers Kevin

Thanks for the comments justin and kevin. i didnt notice i only put grass in only one hight! i will get right to it putting them at smaller hights to blend it in. do you have any suggestions for a different vegetation to put in (bushes?)
and if bushes do you guys kno how to make em so a 17 year old like me can figure it out! lol
i dunno the woodland scenics grass seems to only go straight up for me. ive seen others do it so it looks more round and volumous (is that how u spell it) but yeah tell me how to make a more rounded bush
cheers

Nice look diorama.
Nice mix of kits. Great trees, they came out very well. I like the texture and color of the road too
Nice job with all the detail everywhere.
Suggestions - Go to a DIY store and buy some 1/4 round molding and build a quick frame around the edge. Finishing of the base really adds nice touch.
Agreed on the grass, more varied lengths all around. I know what you mean about WS grass, I have had to resort to almost individual placement a few times to get the look I want. Old brushes, hemp rope cut down both make nice grass materials.
On your figures watch the shoulder seams. I usually fill those in with some putty and then etch back in a clothing seam if necessary.
On composition, it's more pleasing (interesting) to the eye when a diorama is not set parallel to the base edge. I like that you off set the road this helps.
These are suggestions that you can take or leave, they aren't critical by any means. You've done a very nice job on this diorama and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I really like the camoflage on the schwimwagen. What is it?
Also, I think you can get a little more realism out of your schwim if you put windshield wiper marks on your windshield. Even if you want to imitate a dirty windshield, if you look at your car you will find that the area wiped by the wipers is always cleaner than the rest unless you literally pour mud right on it. It does not appear to be the case in your dio.
I also think a roadsign and some assorted liter (leaves, paper, crushed empty boxes or other discarded packaging) will add to your scene. Unless the gardening crew just came through there should be stuff all over the place

hey alan, i thought about that but when it came to finishing the windshield i chose to pass on it, the camo is a basecoat of modelmaster dunkelgelb 1943 (#2095), and then a squigly patter of modelmaster dark green (FS 34079). after that i went over it with a mist coat of a tan color to tone down the vehicle and also to simulate dust buildup. there are signs in the dio but i dont have them shown in the pics. and i sprinkled some margerum (raided from spice caninet) and used for the trees and i spreinkled it over the grass, also not shown too well in the pics. ( do u have a better way of putting down leaves?) well thanks for the comments all

Maybe you just need more leaves. What is the foilage camouflage you used there?

the foliage is roots i dug up from a citrus tree lemon/orange and then i added margerum (a spice from your local store) and added a dot of super glue on the tip of each sprig of root and i sprinkled the "leaves" onto the glue. then i airprushed the "leaves" and then i went back with a diluted brown wash to cover up the overspray. i did this with my tree also but you have to glue sprigs of roots to a big root to make a tree like figure (you cant find a root that looks just like a tree straight out of the ground ) but basically that is the camo u see in the schwimm.
