$25.00 for dragon as Tamiyas goes for $45.00 List ouch I looked at the Dragon site nothing but their it was in the box looking good got one set back for me

DML issued three versions of the Pershing: the T26E3 WW2 variant Pershing; the Korean War M26A1 Pershing and the Korean War M-46 Patton (Pershing with a new engine and tranny). These hit the market way back in 1996-7 and had a price tag that rivaled any modern Tamiya kit ($30-35 IIRC). They are nicely done, I have the M26A1 and M46, and back then were not hot items, much like DML's M4A1. A lot of them died on the shelves because DML didn't have the name brand recognition like Tamiya, Italeri or even Heller or Esci. DML got some loyalty from folks who bought their modern Soviet armor (best and only things going for a while).
Any way, Tamiya's Pershing is a state-of-the-art model kit that is superbly made and will be spoken highly of for a long while to come. That being said, a $25 DML Pershing is a good deal and well worth the money.
I picked up a DML T-26E3 a few months ago for $30 and thought I found a good deal. Now they've re-released it and have marked the prices down!![]()
Both the DML and Tamiya kits have plusses and minusses -- but no glaring errors that I can see. If you want to know the details, there have been several threads on Missing Links lately and Terry Ashley at the Perth Military Modeling Site has a very nice side-by-side review online.
I'm building the DML kit right now with an Eduard PE set and it's looking good.![]()
