While camping on the beach at Pt Mugu, CA this weekend, I saw two armored vehicles across the lagoon from where I was staying. Went on a short walk and noticed tank chassis, over-sized turrets and one had a pair of 40mm barrels pointed to the sky!

Could it be........ What else COULD it be but two of the pre-production SGT York DIVADS. I might have a couple of confirming photos, if there might be any interest.

I learned that such articles are frequently modified well past their original form, to support on-going programs, and we know that eventually they "go down-range" to end their days on the wrong end of a munitions validation program.

It was hard to concentrate on the beach trip after that!
