Hi everyone on my many trips to Normandy i always notice very distinctive Telegraph/power poles not made out of wood but concreate they appear to be tappered and with holes right through to the top, i assume to aid maitenance.
In many photos i have seen both in books and that my father has ( Landed D-Day Sword Beach) these same poles appear they seemed to survive a lot of the shelling, perhaps to add these to dios would add that extra little bit of France.
There are a number in a place called Mondrainville near Caen in the same place as on my dads pics and have the scars of battle but are still there,i will see if i can dig some photos if anyone is interested.
I think it just adds that extra bit of detail.
Regards Chris tango20 cheers
