Found one good foil material for making stripes, air-recon flags, and such. There is aluminum foil packed drink such as Ribena blackcurrent juice, when drank, you can cut open the pack, and it's a big thin foil that is easy to bend and can be glued using CA glue, tried some for a gun stripe and dog leash last night, looked good. Just want to share this information

Hey Dave,
Cool advice! :-)
I have been looking at these chocolate medalions that I recently picked up. One side has some circle impressions, the other is perfectly blank.
And the chocolate is preaty tasty too! #:-)

Hi Dave, this is Dave.
The foiled packed drink, both sides are smooth. The rim of the pack is thicker so is good to immitate leather stripes, and the center part that actually contains the drink is thinner. So should be good for flag. I think I will use it to try some bed roll as well, to see how it goes. And because the area is so big, may even be good for some cover for open top vehicles...

Just noticed yesterday that a regular coffee package foil is great as well. You can also use it for making folded canvas, I may try to make a jacket of it. I tried to sculpt a hanging coat but it was surprisingly difficult and I wasn´t satisfied with the result.

Dave,
That sounds good. But have never seen that brand of drink around my parts.
But, as discussed before, we modeling folks are a weird bunch. If we go out to the wacky world and interact, we end up looking at stuff for other uses! #:-)
You really otta' see my biker bros look at my wondering!!!!!!

I don't know this drink, but it sounds interesting.
I use the chocolate medallions for a long time already ! We have them in the shape of coins. Both sides are embossed like a real coin, but you can easily make them flat. You place them on a piece of glass or other perfectly smooth surface (after eating the chocolate of course ) and rub them with the round side of a spoon until they are completely evened out and flat. Works very easy.
Tomorrow I'll try to find that ribena drink when I do my weekend shopping. Does it taste any good too ? :-)
