Hey there guys,
Thanks for answering my last mine plow question. Now I have 1 regarding the real mine plow. I noticed that on the plow, there are plow blade extensions. Some pictures I have seen show them extended and some folded in. The version i am making on my model will have them folded in. I am curious though, can those extensions be deployed from inside of the tank , or must the crew get out of the tank and put them in place manually? Also on the tamiya kit, the lower plow extension, seems to lay on top of the folded plow blade when it is not in the extended position.
Any answers on how the blade extensions are deployed or stowed would be helpful.
Thanks,
Joe

They are called mold boards and you must get out, pull the pins, swing them open and replace the pins. They are designed to keep the spoil (plowed up dirt) and any dug up mines from ending up in between the road wheels.
