I was browsing Missing Links a while ago and came across this vehice. Since this is Chechnya I presume this is a Russian vehicle? If anybody knows anything about this thing, I would appreciate the info.

I think it's a 2S4 M-1975 "Tulpan" 240-mm Self-Propelled Mortar.

I think you might be right Paul, I don't know much about artillery - Russian or Nato. It seems the only artillery piece with a gun in the back, unfortunatly I can't find any pics of the rear of the 2S4.

Yup, that be the beastie...
By the way, that is a BREECH loaded mortar, not tube dropped (just in case you all may have thought so)
It brings major pucker-factor to a FEB...but I always thought that there SMERCH MLRS was more of a heart-stopper.
