I am finishing of a handpainted figure & am applying a matt varnish (Humbrol 49). Can I apply this "neat" or should I thin it? If so, with what? And what sort of ratio should I be using?

The flat finishes I use I normally thin with water to the same consistency I spray my paints.

Thanks, but enamel can't be thinned with water...

Sorry, then mineral spirits or whatever thinner you normally use.
