Hi everyone
I am preparing to start a diramo of an incident during the Pacific War at Guadalcanal.
I have to convert /scratch build the LCUPs No(P1021)to represent Signalman First Class Douglas Munro craft.
I need help in a couple of areas,
1. i want to use the USN Pibber MK11 (Tamiya) as the base for my conversion there is a difference in spec length and beam the ,
LCUPs "aka" "T" boat is 36ft in length / 10ft 10inc beam
the,
Pibber Mk11 boat is 31ft in length / 11ft 7inc beam
will that make any difference to the scaleing down,i am not concerned to much with the below the water part of the boat as that will be in resin.
Correct me if iam wrong i think i might be able to get away with a little artistic lic as long as i get the top part of the boat right the sloping front hull the 30 cal positions the steering area and the boxed area for the engine, what do you think ?.
Could you also help me with what size/thickness
plastic card i should use or should i use balsa as well as the boat was of wooden construction.
There are a couple of links below which if you look at might give a better idea of what i am trying to create,

also there will be other parts to this dioram figures of course and landing craft.
Any help with this would be fantastic, thank you very much for taking the time to read this .
