Can't tell exactly what they are doing. Are they hoisting the engine or the dozerblade?

The caption says they are changing a radiator.

the brilliance of the american GI never ceases to amaze me...I feel that animal or gunny will soon have a diorama on this one...this would win a prise at a contest for one of those two experts

Does anybody make a kit of this particular dump truck? Checked ebay and only found one in 72nd scale..I think the ones I have seen were the WW2 version in 35th.

The Vietnam-era armored D7 and D9 dozers are on my "to do - one day" list since I've came across pictures showing some of them in Simon Dunstan's "Vietnam Tracks" book a few years ago. Too bad the only plastic Caterpillar dozer (post WW2) kit I know is the 1/25 one from ERTL (and it's a D8 !) ...

Thanks for the pic (and the link as well) Pawel !

Hi Guys,
IIRC, Hobbyfan made a dump-body conversion for the AFV Club 2 1/2 ... I'm sure it's expensive.
the dump box itself shouldn't be so hard to replicate but the lift mechanism will be.
thanks and good to be back,
Chuck

The truck is M51. It is based on 5-ton M54 truck. There is no plastic model of M54 available. Real Model offer a resin conversion from Italeri M925 kit to M51, but I don't know how good/bad it is.

Hi Frenchy,
Normally Don on Prime Portal does put a little military D7 walk on line.
I have some pics (100+) from a actual D7R in civilian use in France.
But all this pics are not Nam period pics.

Cheers.Pascal

That's the problem, Pascal ! I've seen Don's great pics and I already have downloaded some "modern" D7 pics a few monthes ago. But I'm not in a hurry and I have enough work waiting on my workbench to keep me busy for a while...

(PS : j'ai bien noté ton offre concernant le D7R...)

Thanks
Frenchy
