what type of brush do you guys use for dry brushing? flat or do you guys cut off the top of a round tip brush?

A little of both. I bought a couple drybrushing brushes from MicroMark a while back that have been excellent. If you want to make your own (which is pretty easy), buy some flat brushes. then, cut the corners off both side (just a little bit), so you have a brush witha flat center, but rounded edges.
