Saw a modern (ish?) German army truck on I-215 in SoCal (San Diego area) today. Not sure what it was, looked kinda like a VW Bus. 6x6, flat sides, relatively flat front, driver over front wheels, canvas cover over driver and cargo area. Apparently it was a collector. It was in great shape. Of course, no camera with me. Can anyone identify it and provide a photo. I can't seem to find it on the web.

That would be it. It looked just like the first picture, minus the brush guard on the front and the nose was more flattened. I guess it was an older model. Is it a currently in service vehicle?

Yes these are currenlt in service with 16 air mobile Bde and the Royal marine Bde I think they are being considered for other roles as well the British forces have only started using them in the last few years

Gino,
I'm glad someone else saw that truck!
I saw it last year on the 215 around Christmas time, thought I was imagining things!

Great pics, really cool vehicle.....maybe we'll see a kit in the future!
