I'm building a Tamiya 1/35 HUMVEE. (an excellent kit by the way, I may end up building a whole platoon of them). I want to paint it in the desert scheme. The instructions say to paint the interior in NATO green. I would like to know if HUMVEEs in Iraq have a green interior, or if not, what color is it?

Yes, and no. It depends on when the vehicle was produced. If it is an older vehicle and was repainted sand, the interior would still be green or could be 3-color NATO camo. In the late '90s, vehicles started coming from the factory and from Depot rebuild in overall sand color. In that case, the interior would be sand. It depends on what vehicle you are depicting, either is correct.

I am doing the same thing and I painted the Humvees some sand and some nato green to break up the colors and give the dio alit bit of life because all one color would be great but with the pictures I saw they had both. The Humvees had all different kinds of weapons on them also.

I am thinking of adding one of the M2A2 Bradleys or M1A2 Abrams. Or 2 M113's with modern troops.

Happy Modeling
