I have wondered the same thing, why they have to make up things when there is so much cool equipment available. It seems to me itīs only design for design...
Fictional armory may look cool in some sense but it often results in non-practical (=not believable) design features. At least if you know anything about the subject.
My favourite is the Smartgun from Aliens. It looks bad and cool and believable in some sense with the real, familiar elements used in it (MG42 with steadicam crane), but would you take it with you to a place thatīs full of air vents and tunnels with limited space? I donīt think so. #:-)
Well, I had a good laugh when I saw the OICW by H&K the first time as well...

Looked pretty cool. I wonder if for say the Germans had the Panther in 1942 instead of 1943.
How the outcome of the War would of changed.
What I mean is production is in full effect which did not happen until late 1942 early 1943. After the bugs were all worked out you know torsion bars and wheels, engine

I'm with all of you guys - why resort to making something up where there's so many subjects out there that represent actual service vehicles. And then 300 dollars for a piece of fantasy too!?! Man - it doesn't take much to separate some people and their money I guess...

I was not advocating buying or building it.. just pointing out the kit. It is interesting, if nothing else an an exercise in art... but $300??? $30, maybe... but like you guys say, we all have more than enough real stuff to keep us busy for a long time. The Warhammer stuff looks cool, but the functionality is questionable to outright outlandish...
Cool looking, though!
