Hey Guys,
Iīm new to this forum, so please forgive me if i post in the wrong forum .
I wanted to show you my latest work.
Itīs DMLīs new T34/76 Mod.41 pretty much ootb.
The kit is very nice and went together very well. Itīs one of the best DML kits i ever build.

It depicts a tank used by the 21st Tank Corps, 130 Tank Brigade on the Southern front April 42.

I painted it with Tamiya paints, mixed like the tank in the instructions (the only refference i had while building it ).

Here are the pics:

I hope you like it a bit.

And please excuse my bad english .

Thanks for looking.

The rust is very good, specially the tracks and those towing hooks(?) nice one

one thing I notice is that the surface of the tank looks a little bit monotone, maybe some preshading, rust streaks, paint chips, dust and mud would help on these. welcome to armorama!!

Hey Dragonslain,
thank you for the kind words!
As for the preshade, i did one, but itīs hard to see now because of the washes and filters.
I got some pics laying around somewhere on my harddisk, where it can be seen, i need to look for them .
As for the rest, i wanted to depict a pretty new tank, so i didnīt want to much dirt or paint chips.
But thank you very much for your tipps!!

Markus,
Nice build. As already stated, great rust effects. Love the camo pattern. Not sure if I am seeing things correctly, but in pic #4, the end of the barrel, (fuzzy) looks unpainted. Could be camera flash reflecting. Maybe add a little black/brown pastel work to the end of the muzzle for that blast effect look. Other than that, looks pretty good to me. "Q"

Nice job on the T34, tracks look great , the links look like they are 100s of pounds each, the hull is alittle to clean and new looking compared to the tracks and other (well done ) iron components, alittle more road wear and it will be perfect, ready to go hunt a tiger, hehe.

cheers

I agree that with that much rust on the tracks, I would expect to see some wear on the main hull. otherwise excellent.

Absolutely stunning work on the paint and the tracks are particularly well done. The subtle weathering, dusting and wear on the tracks and suspension, and shading work very well.
One point I think gets missed with the present paradigm of massive (and often overdone) “paint chipping”, fading, rusting, and dusting is the fact that these T-34’s early in the war rarely lived long enough once they reached the battlefield to receive the scuffing, dinging, and scratching that would cause visable surface rust. Of course, that’s a separate debate altogether.
Really nice work!

Yo, Markus, welcome. I have some knowledge about these tanks and i can give you a couple of hints. Overall the work is great, i love the weathering, its just right.First, i can tell you that the bulletproof glass on that tank was usually removed by Russian crews, since its quality was disgusting, i saw em at Kubinka and got into one, i couldnt make anything out, it was a blurr. Second, the camo scheme was very rare and usually applied in 1941 and 1944.

Great work !
The paint is very well done !

Just one thing : on all WWII pics I've seen, the inside of the big turret hatch was green, just like the exterior of the tank.

Looks great!
I have a few questions about the built.
How did you fit the tracks on the vehicle? I have built a similar kit from Dragon, and the one-piece tracks were too short - they actually broke the idler wheels when I placed them on. (Now they are kind of funny...)
How did you painted them? (Same story: the paint chipped when I put the tracks on, and the originial surface looks through - it doesn't look like metal at all.)
How do you do the camo pattern in this small scale?
What type of weathering did you use?
(Sorry, dude, but I need to learn )

This looks like a very well executed and finished build. Congratulations.
