I had this tank my mother gave me when I was 11 or so laying around...it has some sentimental value so I tried to build a small display base for it...and this led me to buy a couple of tank kits in 72 and do some more bases for them...and this led me to plan some dioramas that I've been doing and gettin away from the planes I usually build it was the best thing that could happen cause more then building the kit itself, building terrain or any other kind of display base is what really got me into modelling, although I didnt know it at first hope you like it, I'll post some more pictures of my humble work soon
it's in aproximatly 1/67

That looks absolutely superb. The colors all look natural, the layout is nice, etc. However, I do not feel that the paint scheme is correct for this variant of the Sherman; clearly this is a '45 paint job in '44 Europe. :-) Seriously now, for the next base do everything you did for this one but put the road and tank at an angle to the base. Nice job.

Hi,
Very good base.
Como referido, se colocar os elementos da base sem ser paralelo à moldura, dará uma maior impressão de movimento.

Actually that is a metal tank, bought just like that it's just a toy It has some angle but the picture was taken with the frame "angled" too so one cant notice that very well...It´s subtly angled thank you very much for your comments !!

Ciao Francisco,
I love it!! But, I think that you should send me one of your bases for closer examination, that way I can give you a better estimation. In fact, send me several!!! :-) :-) Excellent work, Francisco!! Keep it coming!
Ciao for now
Rob

excellent!!! thanks a lot for your comments!! I have to make a small parentesis: I dont know if it's my eternal insatisfaction showing but I have to say that it looks better in the pics however I know that practice makes perfection so no work is an absolut loss!
Thanx again, I'll try to post some stuff that I'm doing later !!
thumbs up!

Hi Francisco,
nice groundwork there! I love the rock at the side too they all look too dang realistic.
can you spare a moment or two in explaining how you achieve that to a complete diorama idiot like me?
thanks!

Yeah man, do you think you could share with us what kind of materials you used to create that amazing base?

Very real to me. Nice! With a nice model and a good photo, who would realize that this was a scale model? :-)

Hey guys I'm such a noob!!!I dont think you can learn a lot with me Thanx a lot for your nice comments
Let me try to explain it then:
The base started with a rectangle of plasticard! I then cutted a bit of styrofoam I had laying around and shaped it to create a lower part, were I would make the road, lefting a protuberant part (vertically) to create the wall work. The rocks are cat litter I covered the base with some plaster, left it to dry a bit and started to had the rocks and shaping the road. The "grass" are tea leaves from those ready-to-make packages, like earl-grey and stuff those taller bits are just dry grass I collected from the garden in front of my house...For the framming I used those straps of wood that are used to put around the wall in a room, like near the floor or somethin' , I dont know how's it called in english (baseboard??)..It comes in 6feet (2mtrs) straps that cost 3euros/dollars +/- and you just cut it as you want and paint it, just like if you were doing a picture frame..The paintjob was made by using some earth and green colors, using greys for the rocks...they were applyed randomly until I got a nice looking base that was finally covered with a raw umber wash.
I hope this helps! please, if you have any questions feel free to ask, like more specfic stuff or something..
this is the site that inspired me to do some quick and easy display bases: http://www.oshipee.com/omami/e-build-wtm-diorama01.htm
Now I'm thinking of building another small base...An Me262 almost completely covered (only the left wings showing like if it had landed on his side..) with snow (baking soda) crashed in a field, with a little road crossing it and with a german soldier passing by in a bycicle or motorbyke...something like this but with that 262 that I have here with a ugly paintjob: http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/other/create_snow_cheehongahn.html

Very nice job - the base is well done, well painted, and well detailed.
My only critique is the scale with the model on it. The size of things looks on the base a bit large.
