hi all, i am starting to plan my next diorama. i have several options as to what army to do it ither us army or german army ( i dont want to do any others) i am steering towards a snow diorama as i havnt done one yet. if i want to have a german diorama i am going to have it in the snow, with a ruined town house with street the have germans setup an ambush spot containg a 75 mm anti tank gun and a main mg 42 gun. also i would have a kubelwagon out the back.
or
i could have a us soldier platoon advancing thorugh an intact famr house with a sherma on the roadsimliar to the clubmobil diorama but i would have just have the house, road, sherma tank, and us soldiers.
my question is.......for my next diorama out of these two options which one should i do next?
cheers
matt

Go the German route. Put two similar ones back to back and you can extend your skill base.
It sounds more exciting also.

I mean you just finished a German diorama and the skills you learned there, color schemes, washes, camo (on werbel), German signs, German unit markings etc can be extended.

slodder i have been think about what you said, and i have come to the conclusion to have both things in one. in realtion to pvtparts diorama "clubmobil" i am going to have a smilar setting.....farm house next to road with army truck ( in my case a sherman). i hope you dont mind me mimicking your dio pvtparts. anyway i am think of doing a diorama of a sherman making its way up and pass a small farm house by the country road, when the driver notices something suspiciose stiking out of one of the windows ( an mg42) the driver reports this to his commander and then the commander notices it aswell and tells the platoon that have been patrolling along side of them to go check it out.............this is where the scene comes in and i will have the sherman tank stationary with its gun barral facing the house and then i will have the us infantry platoon sneaking out around the house while on the total other side of it i am going to have a tiger tank ready in ambush with its commander at rest totaly obliviouse to the dangers on the other side ( us troops). inside the house itself i am going to have a mg team and some infantry soldiers as well as one or tow with the tank commandes out side.
so it looks like i will have to do a snow diorama some other time.
story feedback appreciated.
thnx

i guess i does sound alot like kevins diorama, but i didnt intend to copy it like that. i could do the tiger all camoflaged with hay or camo nets like in band of brothers, but i achieved that result in my wirblewind dio when i covered the wirblewind up with camo nets, but i think with this one only have it sitting under a camo net that has been suspended over it, this way i can still have the tiger vislbe and show the detail, and not ruin that by covering it up.
it all depends how it looks, maybe when i start ot make an attempt i might indeed do it, anything could happen
