Here is my second diorama posting, the Verlinden FT-17 Tank Turret Pillbox. I hollowed out the solid plaster casting, thinking I would build a full interior, but never got around to remaking the solid resin turret.
I also built workable hinges for the door. The pillbox is set in a foam and plaster groundwork. The rock outcrops were made by making a latex mold of a large piece of coal and then casting plaster "rocks" from this mold. The large "rocks" were set in wet plaster and this was tooled to blend the castings and wet plaster together. I painted this with a mixture of acrylics and acrylic washes. The areas between the cast rock sections were finished with static grass, rope fibers for longer grass and shredded Woodland Scenics foam products. The figures are modified Tamiya.

Thanks for the compliments folks, I really appreciate them! I don't have a digital camera yet, and I don't have any other decent photos of this one at the moment. The next time I have good lighting conditions outside and some free time, I'm going to re-photograph some more of my work, but for now, this is all I have of this one. Thanks again.
