Hello all,

I was fixing to start working on my Luchs tank and was wondering what some of the different paint schemes the Germans used. Thanks guys!

Hello the 116th panzer Div in Normandy used this
vehicle, and they were painted in 3 tone camo,of
Dark Yellow,Red Brown,And Dark Green,using small
wavy S like lines. Now 3 rd SS Panzer also employed
these on the Eastern Front, with 3 tone in the summer
and white winter wash,in the snow.Another known
unit to use them was 4th panzer Div,Eastern Front,
and they were base of Dark Yellow, with small Dark
Green wavy lines.

You can find good pictures in the following books,
Concord's 4th Panzer on the Eastern front,German
Tanks of WW2 by DR. S Hart, and Encyclopedia of
German Tanks of WW2 by Peter Chamberlin, and
Hilary Doyle

The prototype to the Pz II Luchs built in 1942, was finished in Red Oxide Primer. It is quite possible that this prototype Luchs received a coat of Dark Grey as well. I find these 2 schemes interesting if you wanted to model the earliest Luchs vehicle.

Cheers !
