Do these 2 APUs have the same overall dimensions ? I've planned to scratchbuild the M1068 APU using the M577 APU panels as a starting point. I have several TM drawings but I lack accurate dimensions of the M1068 APU
PS some close-up pics of both APUs would be welcome as well

Thanks, I knew this site, but I'm only looking for the Auxiliary Power Unit dimensions (5 kW diesel-powered generator) of the M1068. This APU replaces the one fitted to the M577 (4.2kW gasoline-powered generator)....

Yes, they are generally the same size. They occupy the same amount of space on the vehicle. I believe the 5kW on the M1068 is not as tall as a 4.2kW on the M577 though.

Thanks for the reply Gino.You confirm what I've guessed. In the meanwhile I've found a pic showing a M 577 and a M 1068 side by side : the M 577 APU seems to be taller indeed...
