hi guys im progressing on my model of the stug III G and heres what i got. ive done the paint job, chipping a rust. i have put baking soda to be used as buildtup mud and dirt which i will paint later. i havent done a dusting of dirt to blend in the camo and the rust looks a little too vibrant at this point. any comments or suggestions would be very helpful so that i can end this kit the best i can.
thanks ian

Stipple on your mud color, dark where you think it would be thickest and wettest. Then,a lighter color just above that, overlapping slightly.

i like the scratches

How do you blend the stuff together? By airbrushing or by hand brush?

no i just lightly dust the vehicle with a tan color to make the camo look less blatant and it will make the tank look dustier and things wont stand out as much....just like in real life. u will see that german vehicles it is kinda hard to see the camo because of the layers and layers of dust
ask if u wanna kno anything else spirit

another great tip i learnt a short time ago is to mix in some static grass with your mud applique
it looks like its churned up a few fields on the way!

I just have a question, how did you make the baking soda stick to the model?

Ian, looks great so far. As you mentioned and I was going to ask, is that the rust or the red-primer showing through? If it is the rust you could tone it down with a light wash of raw umber...or is it bunrt sienna?.....the dark brown is the color I am referring to. I ALWAYS get those two confused.... That would take the vividness out of the orange.... Just my .0175 cents worth. Looks great so far. Looking forward to the finished product. "Q"

yeah its rust....in the pics it looks like blood almost hehe
but yea ill try to wash it although i dont have very good results with washing...but ill try. also im counting on the rust to get toned down by my dust coat of tan to simulate accumulated dust. because on some vehicles u will see that u barely see the camo in the lower sections of the vehicle. thanks for the comments guys and keep em comin!!
