I was just over at Tamiya's site, and it looks like they got a new olive drab coming soon, it is going to be XF-74 item number #81774 to where the old one was XF-62 item #81762.
They don't say anymore about it, just that it is coming soon. Sorry I couldn't tell you anymore about it.

Thank You Juul, I went around the site trying to find the reason, I figured it was going to be a different shade, but for what I didn't know, and that site wasn't saying.

Probably if I had looked up that armored car, then I could of found out, but at the time I had no idea, but thanks for your input, it will help all the others to.

Best Regards Kerry

I've just been to my local hobby store a few hours ago. They still don't have XF-74.

Anyway, the normal Olive Drab of Tamiya is too dark and too green. Since it is notorious for strange color shifts, I usually paint Olive Drab on my vehicle and alter the color using artist paints.

One of my old modeler friends said that you can lighten Tamiya's Olive Drab by using light or sky gray instead of white. I haven't tried this yet, though.

Well, it depends on which "olive drab" you are after. If you want to paint US Armor in Vietnam, then Tamiya OD is too light!
