G'day all.
Im really keen in building a diorama, but Im new in building them. In the past I have built my kits and leave them on my shelf to collect dust, very sad out come for them to have.
I have decided to jump in the deep end and built myself a diorama, not building them before, I would really love any help, info, guidance from you diorama gurus out there.
The scene I would like to build is of a medical nature...... Seeing as my real job is a medic in the army, I thought it only obvious! I toying with a modern US/Aussie exercise/operation setting.
I would like to have a contact going, but Im thinking it may get too cluttered and lose what im trying to get across. I was thinking of a DUSTOFF setting, loading a patient onto an helo. I would prefer to use an UH-1 (I love those bad boys!) but what ever would suit.
As I said Im toying with the idea, If anyone has built something along the same lines I would like to hear what they have to say. Or if anyone has any help on where I should start/do fill free to drop a line.......
Medics out there, this is for you guys. If you have pics of your kits, AME aircraft or Ambulances, I would love to see them...... The more info I get, the better I think this would look.

Cazza if it helps Tamiya has an stretcher kit involving 3 medics and a stretcher. They're British but it should'nt be too difficult to convert them to Aussies.
There's also a very nice dio involving a Huey in Vietnam done by your fellow countryman, LestWeForget. The Huey attachment or lack of thereof is very good. Here's the thread:

As for the dio you can have the option of having a dustoff scene on some airport tarmac (might be easier) or doing a more challenging dustoff scene in the bush. If your'e going to do the bush scene you might want to bend the vegetation under the Huey to simulate the wash from the chopper.

Thanks for the link.... I have seen the tamiya kit, however i think its pritty old and i havent seen it in a while.
Im thinking of a bush setting..... Maybe a transfer from a Ambulance to a helo...... I was going to use a academy US army hummve ambo... Getting an aussie 110 rover in 1/35 is impossible, as i dont think such a kit is even around. If i had the rover, i could build a 6x6 Ambulance...
However using that setting would place the scene in a health company (aka field ambulance) back from the front.
Normaly the task of pt transfer from an ambulance to an aircraft takes palce at the supporting CSSB's health company . Im trying to keep it as close to the contact as possible.... Maybe not 100% but it looks good to the unknowing (Dont want to explain doctrine to those who dont know)
thanks for your help

Welcome to the great world of Armorama, and diorama building. My advice is more along the lines of a general nature. First, pick up a copy of Shep Paine's book, " How To Build Dioramas" . It's pack with tips, hints, and how tos. Most of the hobby shops on the net should have it.
You may have already noticed the articles to the left of this as well as the other pages on the site. They too can be very helpful with everything from ideas to how to do something. Lastly if you have any questions or problems aways feel free to ask the folks here on the site. Were all like family so help is only a click away. Good luck with your current project.
