Hello Karl,
these tanks and the men operating them went to war after these pic's were taken. A lot of these Men did not come back home. Thats what make these photo's so special.

Best regards,

Garry

I just love the cast hull Grant/Lee (3rd one back) with the yellow stipe and star...

Garry,

Thanks for the pics and the link. I'll have to do some looking around there. The pic of the Lee you posted is perfect for me. I'm finishing one up right now.

I think Wittman put more Tommys in the grave than G.I.s. Thanks for being so uninformed!

My Gosh...
I think I'm in heaven...Not too many oportunities to view so many excellent color stills from WWll!!!
There is also a video set from the History Channel, three volumes, of some excellent color footage of WWll, including D-DAY!!!. Look them up at your local Public Library... Thanks for the excellent link, Gary, good work.

Sincerely,
Gunny

How about a three beer cheer???

I think wittmann targeted cromwells more that shermans, and most of his victories were on the eastern front(?), but I think TigerIV was just joking, not stating a fact, so relax and let him get away with a yellow card!! :-) :-) :-)
