Matt:
How about a depiction of the March to Bastogne?
Shermans, Germans, U.S. Infantry.. The Ardennes Offensive Campaign comes to my mind...All the ingredients for a great Dio and a Campaign entry rolled into one. Also, could be in a country setting as you would like to do... What do you think?

Sincerely,
Gunny

What about a scene of clearing the hedgrows? The M8 in the lead postion with the support infantry advancing on the german postion, clearing it of any survivors after being hammered by the armor?

The Normandy hedgerow sounds good, but if you want a building, how about an ambush position with the AT gun in/behind a building? If you use 2 Allied vehicles you cuold show the lead one having taken a hit, and the infantry sneaking up round the back to clear the way for the other vehicle. What size are you going to make this dio? It will be easier to point to references for pictures ones you have decided on a setting/date/geographical position. With what you've mentioned you can't go far wrong with any NW European 44/45 setting.
Good luck

Cheers

Henk

It was very common for the germans to put an anti tank bunkers at the base of a building to knock out tanks advancing in a well defended town. They would strenghten the base by adding concrete to the original structure. I have no photos of this, but Ernie Pyle wrote a story about my cousin whose tank was knocked out by one of these bunkers. The tank destroyed the bunker at the same time the germans knocked out their tank. The tank crew abandoned the tank, while the support infantry advanced on the bunker.

Did mine in the city....

Since the Greyhounds were the eyes of the Tank Corp maybe a conference at a crossroad with infantry moving by

or a firefight - amubushed Greyhound with Infantry in support, Cavalry to the rescue...

or... Abandon Greyhound, looted, with infantry supported Sheramn coming up on the scene

or...

I don't know why, but I had to do 2 seperate posts to get the pix to come up. Anyway, this just an idea for a layout. This one was 3' X 4', but you can probably shorten it up and still get the country setting effect.
