I've noticed you can buy a 1/72 Abrams or Bradley from either Revell or Dragon. The Dragon models appear to have the most modern markings (OIF). Who makes the best kits? In a related question, I was browsing one of the vender sites that Armorama sponsors that deals in former Soviet manufacturers. One company is advertising several versions of the HUMVEE. Are these kits of good quality, or is it better to wait for the Revell HUMVEE to come out?

I think Revell's M1A1 and M2A2 are better kits, but both represent Desert Storm era vehicles. Dragon's kits are not as nice but are current variants being used in OIF.

As far as the HMMWV, I have two of the MW kits and would recommend waiting for Revell's kit.

I've just received my Revell Humvees and they are worth the wait ! The only flaw I have found yet (parts are still on the sprues...) is the wheels rendition : I think there's a good opportunity here for an aftermarket resin set....
Here's a link showing built kits for those who can't wait for mine to be built :

I don't know about M1A1, but Revell's M2A2 is a shrunk copy of Tamiya 1/35 kit and inherits all its inaccuracies. DML Bradley is more accurate, but indeed represents ODS variant used in OIF.

Talking about Revell kit of the M1A1, I've just came this on the TL discussion forum :

This is the kind of project that would almost make me give up this hobby (knitting must be really cooool )

Some people have to much time on their hands. It just hurts trying to imagine that amount of detail in 1:72. Where is my magnifying glass?
