Thought I would show what the interior looks like before I covered it all up! This is the Academy 1/35 M36 Jackson tank destroyer awesome kit! But it seems a shame to cover up all the fine detail of the interior. You can only see a bit of the interior thru the hatches after the model is complete. So before it is all gone, here is the pics!
Hope you enjoy! Any feedback welcome.

Looks pretty good, Garry.
The ammo is really for an M10, but it is largely covered when you put on the upper hull -- not your fault, it's the kit. The 90mm rounds would be quite a bit longer than the 3 inch rounds.
One thing that bugs me that you might be able to fix -- that radio should be black or OD. The rack on the bottom of the radio should be the same white as the interior. The area around the buttons on the front of the radio is sometimes white with black buttons.

If you feel bad about covering the interior, why won't you leave it loose? with my Achilles (Afv-club kit) the fit of the upper hull was so good it didn't need any gluing so I left the upper hull removable, so I can show the interior if needed. But I don't know about the fit with academy kits. (btw I've got to take some pics of the achilles interior too, I simply forgot)

Nice job here. I've got this kit also, (new in box), so its a nice heads up to see your pics here.
Just an idea, but once your Jackson is completed, you could always position a couple of these interior pics next to the model so viewers can see the interior work also.
Please keep us posted as you proceed through this build.

Hello Bob,
Thanks for the info on the Radio colors, I'll make the change on that. You know I was wondering about that ammo they provided. It did seem rather compact for 90mm rounds. Oh well like you said, it wont be very visible.
Cheers,
Garry

I don't know if it's of any use to you,but if you want to put some loose 90mm rounds on the M36 then AFV Club do a set.

Were the Thompson and straps molded together or did you add them? Also, given the M36 came relatively late in the war, wouldn't an M3 be more applicable? I know Thompson's were still very much in use, but how prolific were they to armored crews once M3s came out?

I agree, The M3 grease gun was more popular with tank crews! And I had one to, but I already used it on another tank. And this Thompson already had the hold down brackets molded on , so I used it here.

Oh thats fine. I was just wondering if this was a kit deficiency or if it was added on. There were always crews that didn't like the M3 and kept their Thompson instead.

Thanks for the headsup on the set Pete! I think I have some 90mm rounds from another kit I can swipe. I can add these to the turret hatch to make things interesting.
Cheers,
Garry
