I fielded a question similar to this last week and I thank all of you for the advice about which compressor and airbrush I should purchase. I stated that I want the capability to do mottled camo finish on 1/48 German WWII aircraft (I think that would be considered very fine work), and a $150 dollar limit on the airbrush and compressor. Well... I've raised my $ limit to $200 since the previous post and I would love to field the question one more time. Taking my new dollar limit into consideration.
1. Please tell me what you use...Comp and Airbrush and...
2. If you were to go thru the purchase over again ..what would you buy ?
3. Wher should I buy mine?
Again, strongly oppinionated answers are appreciated the most.
I've never airbrushed before but I'm pretty crafty with such things and hope to avoid going thru a series of airbrushes till I get the right one. I'd rather pay up-front. THANKS .

I am just a beginner in airbrushing but I try to answer your questions:
1. I use 2 Aztek airbrushes, one single action and one double action (This was my wrong purchase: Most experts agree that you're better off starting with a double action airbrush, rather than a single action). Your 1/48 German WWII aircraft with camo painting, you'd better used a double action airbrush. My compressor is an electric compressor with a 25 liters airtank (under $100) that I use for my car engine cleaning, tyre pressure control... and plastic modeling. The airtank with air filling (pressure: about 5 or 6 bars), stop filling the airtank (too noisy) then I adjust the airflow about 2 bars and start to paint the model.
2. An other double action airbrush with nozzle set & color cup set : there are many different nozzles for enamel paint and acrylic paint and color cups to change the color paint quickly.
3. Lucky you, the airbrush cheapest price is in the USA, you can find it out in the hobbyshop or on the web, here is one webshop :

You have a great choice : Peak, Aerograph, Aztek, Badger, Iwata, Paasche, Richpen, Thayer & Chandler and Sotar.
Hope this helps.
