Hi....forgive me...I know its a pain...but as the Matador Models Opel Blitz truck does not come with any colour guide I need a little help.

If the truck was in the "Grey" camo scheme I ask what colours would the following be...
Chassis...same as top colour or different?
Seats....tan?
Cab interior?
Steering Wheel?
Canvas roof?
etc.

Or if anyone could point me in the direction of a good ref. site I would be very grateful.

Many thanks and cheers
Peter

The German Panzergrey would have been painted all over. As for the roof, I didn't know Opel Blitz came with a canvas roof . Interior would probably have been grey also and the steering wheel black.

Instruments white.

All over interior and underneath panzer grey.

Canvas light tan or a browner khaki drab.

Steering wheel black.

Little triangular sign on roof of cab white outter with a red triangle in the middle. Up means it is towing a trailer. Down it's not.

hope this helps. If not PM me as I can scan the color charts off the Italeri Mercedes L3000 which is the same and email it to you.

Thanks again Roo...

...and Henk...I did mean cab roof...lol.
Its a fuel truck and due to essential materials savings the roof of the cab was a canvas affair and pressed cardboard doors...according to the blurb with the kit...
it sounds like a Goons script....

Cheers and thanks again...I'm happy now...lol.

Peter, I see, would this then be a late model with the square sided cab rather than the earlier model with the rounded, steel cab? if you are interessted in some background info on the Opel Blitz try

It's in German, but some nice pic's, and I'm working on translating some of the content to English for the Enlish pages of the site.

I hate to tell you this but I'm pretty sure that the model you are building was a late war model and should be painted in a three colored camo or at least dark yellow base instead of the grey.

I have to agree with Rick here. Those metal saving cabbed models were painted dark yellow

Well Mr (2000 congrats)) Roo is right about the interior , you could have gone with a red primer color to just spruce things up a bit ...What ? it could happen ..especially end of the war ...
