Wasn't there some news of resin kit? But it was the large cannon turret.

Hey Mole,

There is a resin one on the horizon and next week I will be at AMPS East were (I hope) the maker will be there.

I have my name down on the reserve list, but need to see how the progress is coming along. I will post an update note after the 25th....

Later,
Dave

I wonder why it is taking so long or if its even being developed by the major players (Tamiya, Dragon, Academy, etc)? Is there not enough interest? In my mind, there is a real sales coup to be made by doing a family series of vehicles. You make a common parts sprue and then selectively add the model specific parts for each vehicle and incorporate them in seperate or grouped kits. Obviously the aftermarket companies would add on to correct deficencies, therefore raking in more money. So I ask again, why isn't there more interest?

Rats. I'd like to see a series of vehicles made. I really want one that can be converted to the NZLAV. I got to see one last year at the GD Plant in Ontario, and while the turret ring on the resin kit is helpful, the winch drum is on the wrong side. Way too much work to convert.

It Tamiya, Dragon or Trumpeter would come out with a family, they could do an NZLAV that the market in NZ could support.

I worked around Saudi LAVs (LAV IIs) for years and wanted to make models of what I have seen or worked on.

I am with you jeff. No one seems to cover the families of afv's that are out there. I've been waiting in vain for someone to do more british armour/afv's in plastic. accurate armour do a bit, but they are way pricey. I heard Panda were going to come up with some, but they never delivered. Here's hoping.

If someone comes out with a basic Stryker kit, a Canadian LAV III conversion will likely follow quickly. the NZLAV is identical to it. We are waiting impatiently in the Great White North for a plastic Stryker. There would be opportunity for five different versions. Make that six if the 155mm version pans out successfully.

If thats the case, I will first ask if there are any LAV III models out yet? If so, why wouldn't there be a Stryker conversion. Maybe we could get the ball rolling for FineScale's Wish List. Hey, it worked for the Vigilante right?

I still think that the model companies will wait until the vehicle is standardized and the production models are final. The current ones keep getting tweaked and upgraded as deficiencies are discovered.

They know how the experts will be if the kit hits the street at a less than perfect state. We will read reviews like, "Nice kit but it is a pre-production prototype", or "The vehicle represents a production version and thus not correct for the initial variants that participated in OIF."

Well one of the rumors I've heard was that Dragon was working on one, so they could get lion roar to do the PE for it. Plus you have to consider that they are also linked with Concord publications, and one of the photograhers from concord who visits missing-lynx has supplyed them with photos and info for their upcoming M1A1 AIM and Panther 2. He has alot of shots of the Stryker in the newish concord book out on OIF

I talked to a chap a while back that said that before an accurate model could be made the manufacturer (GD) would have to give permission.

Don't know if that is true. Anyone heard that before?
