Does anyone know what color British field pieces where painted during 1916-1917? I am wondering if a dark grey is a proper color for artillery at that time. Thank you.

Most restored pieces that I've seen are mid-grey for naval and some heavy weapons, dark green for field pieces.

My problem is that I have seen the same piece in different museums painted differently. One has the 60pdr in green, while the other has it in gray. The Imperial war Museum has it in green. My feeling is to go with the green in the IWM, but is that a WW1 color or a color from 1920 on?

For the 60pdr I'd go with green.
