Don´t You have sometimes dios in Your mind that seem impossible to build?
Well, looking one day to a foto in Amorama´s modern German AFV section, I saw it:
A Leopard 2A5, "diving" literallly into water, pushing forward a rough water-swirl. Wow, this would be (favourite modelers topic) ... But how to build? One day I just began to play with a piece of modeling clay, puzzled around with a just finished Leo 2A5 - and here is the result:

I haven't tried building any modern armor since I had a rather unhappy experiance trying to do the new NATO camouflage on a Tamiya Leopard 1A4 many moons ago. That aside, that beast of yours looks just plain MEAN! I might have to grab a couple of the little Revell Germany modern armor kits from the local shop and give them a go

Hi everybody,
There is an excelent photo on this webside (modern afv / germany) showing a Leo pushing forwards a big wave on the training ground. The splash of my Leo-Dio was sculptured by modeling clay taking this image as reference. The wave was built around the front of the tank and when hardened I based it on the ground, which was painted in a dark blue-grey colour by airbrush. I gave various coats of white to the wave, aplied a clear blue wash, then finished the "water base by various layers of gloss acrylic paint.
For sculpturing I higly recomend You soft and light modeling clay as children use it at school. It can be bought for 5 $ in every paper store and is an excelent feather-light material to work with. Give it a try and You´ll see that sculpturing water-details with soft-clay is fun and much easier You think. Here is the photo reference I used:
