Adam and Carlos, thank you.
Adam,
I have some additional pics that I will post this week. As for the construction of the doors, Eagle (Danny Wennekes) feature “Making a Simple Door” is actually how the doors were constructed, with the addition of the windows, which were constructed as outlined in “Basic Window Construction.”
The door handles are styrene and .032 brass wire. I simply bent the wire to the desired shape, heated the handle end of the wire with a lighter and the squished it with a pair of smooth jawed needle-nose pliers. I mounted the handle base-plate (brass painted and slightly distressed, .010 X .030 styrene strip) to the door, drilled a hole, and inserted the wire.
Carlos,
The design and reference for the buildings came from 1920’s French postcards of Yvetot, although not replicas, they are a combination of a couple of buildings in one. Bob Letterman’s “Legacies II” diorama was a further reference, from a 1994 Fine Scale Modeler.
