I recently tried RUSTALL for the first time and experiemented on a couple of old models first. But when I went to my current project (that had been sprayed with Future the night before) it left a chalky, almost frosted like apperance like when super clue touches clear plastic. Is this normal? Does it wash off or should I repaint?

My test models didn't have Future on them but had awesome results. I had only put on one very light coat of RUSTALL and the reaction happened almost immediately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - model contest is next weekend.

I've never tried Rustall over future, but I think the safest thing to do is repaint.
Are you building for the Hobbytown contest next weekend?
Good luck

Yes, I'm building for the HobbyTown show. I'm in Colorado Springs for the moment. Tried to put a light rust wash on a FLAKVIERLING and think that I'll be repainting the trailer.

:[]-- North Dakota ehh! I used to live in Grand Forks (UND grad). Is the HobbyTown still next to the mall? I heard a rumor that it moved to Fargo a while back? Too, bad cause, that store helped get me through the winters.

Hi Scott,
I live in Larimore. Tony moved to Fargo, but another Tony opened a hobbytown across Columbia road from the mall about a year ago. Some of the old employees are back, along with some new guys. A great bunch of folks, and some good modelers.
Good luck in your contest. I finished my entry and this morning broke an idler wheel beyond repair, so I'm back to the drawing board.
Let us know how you do.

Wow! "Scarimore" That's what all of us aviation students used to call Larimore. The runway is so short, it used to scare the crap out of new students and the flight instructor that took them there! That, and I've had to abort landings and take-offs due to semi trailers heading along the rode! YIKES!

Did you retire off of Grand Forks AFB? My best man's folks used to live there as well!

I busted a wheel off of my HEMMT the other day as well and lost the brake drum - which just so happens to hold the wheel in place. My first real attempt at scratchbuilding and it worked. Hopefully, nobody picks the thing up to see the complete bottom or they'll know it for sure. LOL.

Scott

Yep, I retired from the AB.
One of the guys at Hobbytown (Rob) was in the aviation program and is now an instructor. He loves Tiger tanks. He's a very talented modeler.
When were you here? I've lived in Larimore for 16 yrs. My house is just east of the Catholic Church. I've probably watched you practice landings. Small world.

Sure is isn't it! I probably even dodged your car once or twice!

I was in Grand Forks from the fall of 1993 to Aug of 1997. Spent the last year either digging out of snow, fighting the flood, and then cleaning up after it.

I was in the National Guard unit in Grand Forks and was involved quite a bit with the flood. I was one of the last people to drive downtown before the fire started and managed to get an elderly couple out of one of the buildings next to the fire. Note: a hummvee can only drive through water up to the air cleaner. I came close but never swamped one!
