Nice start Nexy, My choice would be Arnhem 1944 as you have the right sort of building and the Stug is the right one aswel. If you go for Holland, I would lighten up the stone work on the building (not the bricks, they are very good). I see you are using the figures from the tamiya halftrack. Good poses and action, unfortunatly the mold quality is typical. I would not use them, but replace with some better molded figures. Dragon do a very nice set of 4 ' Panzer grenadiere Arnheim '44 ' which is just right. But hey, with some skillfull painting (which, if the building is anything to go by, won't be a problem) the figures you have will create a nice, flowing action scene.
One thing though, the bricks for the road are correct, only they would be laid 'across' the direction of travel, not 'along'. They would also be greyer, as they are not house bricks.
Keep us posted, it's looking good.
Cheers
Henk

Nice composition, I like the action with all the figures.
I know this is a work in progress so keep up the good work. I see a couple of things - behind the down spout (water pipe) I see some white plaster, you'll want to touch that up. I see seam lines on the barrel

Yes its true dat this tamiya figurel are poor quality but as you said good poses and action, i was looking for beter figures but i cant find it here in serbia.
Do you think i need to repaint road in grey?
Scott good eye, i will put some colors inside.

Nexy, very good start to your dio!!! Keep us posted as you progress. It looks great so far. Cheers Kevin

Nexy, I would try to give the street a wash of brown/greyish. Just to tone down the red. Don't paint them grey. For example, the pavements are spot on, don't touch those. lighten the stone work on the house, to almost white, and darken the road. That should give you the variation of color that would really bring the dio alive. Well that is my opinion, others no doubt have their own. It's looking good as it is, just darken the road.

yeah, i wouldnt wanna do tamiya figures for a diorama, unless they are the well molded kind (which are hard to find) or tamiya is asking you to build a dio for them.

Looks good to me instead of using the tamiya figures have you tried dragon's figures they have some that will go great with your dio,
have a look here for a list of the dragon range you can look at the box art pics and see if they are of use to you. And dont forget this set of figures from Tamiya,

I see that dragon and tamiya on http://www.mpmshop.cz/main.asp?akt=112835
they cost 8 euros plus delivery 3.5e for 250g
and i early tink to put that tamiya set but camouflage are maybe be a problem i am beginner in painting figures
What do you suggest on stug IV to be yellow or camouflage. See tigar on pic he is yellow i do wash and drybrush, i meant to wahs stug the same as is tigar in 1/72

Henk couldn`t have said it better. This dio in progress sure has the Arnhem feeling to it. This is quite a nice representation of the streetfighting there.
I liek the way you painted your house and you took good notice of the fact that not all the stones are the same color of red. Great job on that. I would tone the street a bit down. The colour is too strong in my opinion.
I know this dio is not finished yet but be sure to add quite an amount of rubble from that destroyed building. Add a tree or some bushes on the backside of the little wall in front of the dio.
Could you give some pics from the inside of your building? That looks quite good too from what I can see. I also would like to know how you made the little lantern above the doorway on the left.
The Dragon figures are very good. I have used them together with my Airborne Jeep and they are really finishing the scene.
Great Job want to see more of this one.

I suggest you paint the Stug in Camouflage, as on the dragon boxart. The Boxart is historicly correct (well apart from the pose of the figures) as there are several foto's of the stricken tram on the Utrechtese weg in Arnhem being passed by a colom of Stugs. Remember that the 9th SS and 10th SS panzer divisions had just re-fitted north of Arnhem. Although not at full strentgh, the equipment and vehicles they had where clean and maintained. If you are worried about camoflage for the uniforms, paint them in Feldgrau. There were plenty of soldiers wearing that instead of camo.
Good luck

Nexy
Very nice and as others have commented, especially the buildings. I'm finding that Tamiya's figures are somewhat lacking and like the Dragon though the Verlinden figures (like their "Warrior Scale") are very good though somewhat expensive (two figures cost about as much as two boxes of Dragon). I agree with Henk and others that look at this as an ideal "Arnhem" scene. With the intensity of the street fighting there, I'd add a good deal of "rubble" around buildings and on street. Maybe having the "Sturm" going over a pile or through a temporary street barricade. Movie "A Bridge Too Far" has some great scenes for ideas. Keep them pictures coming as this is great stuff.

Hi Nexy, first let me say your interiors are coming along nicely! very well done so far. Secondly for brick rubble you could break up some terra cotta plant pots, or break up some left over plaster, dont make the peices to big. for the little stuff nothing beats cat litter in my book. Even could add some sand for the truly devasted rubble. Cheers Kevin

Nexy, when Kevin gives you some clues on ground work, go with it!! He is right though, lots of rubble, and cat litter(straight from the bag, not from the tray!!!!) is really good for rubble.

Hi Nexy,
The diorama is looking very nice. Could you give an explanation for how you painted the brick structure?

Nexy, you lamppost is very good, and a good addition to your diorama. I just have a feeling ( and just a feeling, no reference to back this up) that streetlights in Arnhem where not as curved as yours. The bar would probably have been staight. The layout of your dio is for a smaller back street, which would have a less elaborate streetlight. Streetlights on the main roads were part of the tram(trolly)system and therefore hung of the wires of the mainssupply..
But hey, your doing well, pay no attention to me.
Henk
