Ola Jonhy D

What I usually do is measure a door or window on an original building and scale that down to 1:35. According to the dimensions I get I built the windows/Doors There isn`t really a standard dimension to Doors and windows they come in every size available.

I agree with Faust - there are no standards, especially during that time period.
You can start with a door in your house and measure that and scale it down to 1/35. Then make adjustments from there, maybe a bit wider, country living doesn't have the contraints urban building would.

Just measure on one of you walls what would be like a good sized window, take that measure in milimeters and divide it by 35.

If you are building something higher than one floor, consider slightly scaling down the second floor. It actually "looks" better, even if the height, windows, etc. are slightly smaller. This exaggerated perspective pleases the eye, if not the caliper.

I haven't built any stuctures like buildings yet.

However, when I make it, I'll probably determine the size of the doors, windows, porches etc. by having a 1/35th scale figure stand next to the base material. From there, I can make adjustments until it will just "feel right."

The female creative solution

Now, isn't this nice how you can get the best of both worlds....
