I want add a German MG squad on the top of the hotel, something along the lines of Carenton in Band of Brothers. I am looking for any pictures of residential MG posts can anyone assist?

I would think that a gun crew would set up anywhere they had good cover, concealment and field of fire. It could be a hasty affair, or if time permitted build up the site with rubble, furniture, sandbags, etc. Just my thoughts. I'm sure you'll get other replies.

Specific photos I don't have at hand, I have one of a Heavy MG behind a large baracade of bags covering an open field.
I agree with the previous post - good cover and line of sight.
It will depend slightly on the type of MG you use, bipod, tripod, heavy, or medium...
One thing to consider is the angle of fire. Being high they will want to be able to cover fairly close and with most kits the MG's and figures are positioned for level firing... maybe a bit of conversion going on ??

Minuteman-
As before, love the buildings and the amount of work you've put in is evident. Just my thoughts, but along the lines of Art and Slodder. Protection/concealment, line of sight, and field of fire would be key factors. With the MG on the roof, I'd think you'd have a field of fire that was limited to more down the streets which works until the enemy got closer and you'd have to angle down to cover the approaches as your line of sight is more out and limits your ability to see just in front of building. To get that covered, you'd have to get up more to fire down and expose your position more. Make any sense? Just my view, but I'd opt to have the MG on like the second floor maybe instead of roof. Whatever you decide on, it will look great in those buildings. Hope to see more,

Thanks for the input. From the top of the hotel the corner allowed coverage along the roads, however the biggest problem with a flattop roof concelement is minimum. Since the Dieppe was occupied throughout the war the post would most likely be well constructed, i.e. sandbags... granted close combat would be ineffective but with the hotel being used a field command post in an occupied country would that not lend itself to some form of protection particularly if an attempted raid had already occuried two years prior? I hadn't thought this out well during the planning mental picture now trying to create it
