one of the best 113 interiors I've ever seen. I know it sounds cliched, but when I scrolled to the first pic on page 1, you had me fooled for a second that I was looking at the real thing.

If I remember, US .50 caliber ammunition markings in the '60s/'70s were something like this:
plain copper FMJ Ball Ammo (anti-personnel)
black tip Armor Piercing
red Tracer
yellow Spotter (flash on impact)
blue Incendiary

The kit Is from Verlinden Production but I don't know if it is still in production. They do mention it in their catalogue though [url=http://www.verlinden-productions.com/vp_htm_0801_1200/vp0933.htm[/url]
Maybe you can find one on ebay if you are lucky.

Regarding the retaining clip for the engine cover stay, I don't actually know if it has one or is sprung loaded either?

No vignette planned for it.

I think the next photos will be of the finished model, but this may be a while yet.

I have a lot of hours in one of these (only it had a mortar in it) I'd swear I was looking at the interior of a real track!...You sure you're not trying to pull a fast one on us?
I truely fantastic job on the interior...the rest looks great also, but I just can't get over how good the interior looks!

your interior is insane. looks like a pic of the real thing. The one problem I could find anywhere, and I may be wrong, is that the mg ammo hanging off of the turret conforms to the turret too much. Otherwise, this is the kind of kit you'd expect to see in a magazine

Again thanks guys don't know how I missed these posts?....anyway, the picture below should help explain why the ammo conforms to the turret line more than it should do on both outside and inside.

Inside to clear the hatch opening and closing.
Outside to clear the drivers hatch (when opened) when the turret is rotated.......this had to be done on both sides allowing for a bit of "artistic licence" and workable operation of the model.


Finally finished painting and weathering the tracks and running gear, hopefully 3-4 weeks should see the completion of this kit plus figures.

I had a look at a Aussie M113 last Sunday and this is how the engine strut is set up. Hope it helps

Having served around 7 years as a driver, crewmember, track commander on numerious versions of the M113. All I can say is "WOW" .

I do have a few comments that haven't been addressed yet. It's in the engine compartment area. For starters, the exhaust system leaks an oil residue around the joints, especialy in the front of the engine and all over the right side where the muffler is located at. Also you would find a lot of oil, water, etc in the (belly) bottom of the engine compartment.

how much was this m113? I was looking at a tiger tank made by verlinden for my next dio and it was around $400. That is very crazy and I think someone needs to make a comment to them on their prices. Im sorry I think that is way to expensive. Not economic at all.
