Hi all,
Finally I managed to get something finished . It's a little Vietnam-vignette inspired on this picture sent to us by Donald Aird, a Vietnam-veteran my wife writes with. I tried to depict the scene in the picture but with Donald Aird in it.
Hope you like it.

Mark

Looks great. I especially like the interior of the bunker.
Is that supposed to be chain link fencing on the top of the bunker? Nice mod on the puddle jumper fatigues. (Or are they Capri pants :-) )

Splendid job!! your friend will be amazed! Lots of details to pore over in this dio and I really like the bunker photos. Are the marsten mats a production item or scratch built? Good job

hey, awesome viggy. I am really loving it. I think the dirt and the trash is really good. the lazy ness of the soldier as he drags his butt up to let someone take a picture of him is what attracts my attention. you can totally tell that hes been sitting around base all day enjoying himself and reading a couple of PLAYBOY magazines. great great great vigginette.

wELL THIS GUY is having a really good time there !!!! Thats for sure . Nice vigniette , with different style and colour. All details are adding a lot to the general impression, and the bunker look is fine.

Great dio . The fact that the dio stands out even without being an action scene is even more amazing thanks to the tons of details I like the pic with the Huey in the background.

Where's the figure from? Was it scratchbuilt including the spectacles?

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies!
Indeed that’s supposed to be chain link fencing on top of the bunker (it’s aluminum mesh, easy to shape)
I’m not sure but marsten mats is the same as psp I guess. They’re Verlindens and look real nice (they rust very easily). The corrugated metal is plain corrugated carton (cardboard) painted and weathered. The figure is from Hobby Fan’s “US army in Vietnam” (mechanized) and the glasses from Tech Star. Fire support base Veghel was located in the Ashau Valley and if I'm not misinformed they had a lot of red soil (dust!!!) overthere.
Well what’s next? Hmmm I’m still working on my ‘crosstown traffic’ an urban Vietnam diorama. And then there’s a lot of idea’s (some started some still idea’s) for future projects (I’ll keep you all informed)

Kind regards
Mark

Nice dio!I just think that some weathering on the sand bags will make it even better!
