G'day guys, this is what ive been working on for the last few months, my 1/72 diorama, Somme 1916...small stoyline being that the british have taken a german front line trench and are using it to fight the germans who are still occupying their second line trench, after weeks of going over the top in an attempt to take the trench, both sides are making one last stand..... the light artillery gun was knocked out some weeks earlier.
The Somme offensive of 1916 was in the end...a complete failure, on the first day of the offensive, more men died than in any whole battle in history.
I would also like to dedicate this Diorama to my great grandfather, William Brown, who fought through the Somme offensive with the Black Watch, he died in 1992.
heres to you mate
cheers guys

Ola David
Great Job. Quite some detail in this little scale. And a great dedication to your grandfather.
Maybe you could add some grass painted in the same colors as your groundworks. (short grass that is) Even after some long time in battle you will still find grass. Not being in the most nicest form but you will find grass.
But that is a nitpick afterwarths great job in this tiny scale.
Now finish off Waterloo.

G'day Bob.
grass could work, but in all honesty all the pics ive seen of the eastern france battlefields, well, there was nutthin but mud from the looks of it, but still an idea none the less, i still have a few little things to add to it, so maybe some grass could be added also, but like ive said before, its finished for now
cheers mate

I love the history of WW-1... too bad there aren't many kits out there in 1:35 scale. 1:72 is just too small for me to work with...
