Hi guys

In a word, HELP!!! Sometime between yesterday afternoon and this morning the rear tail light disappeared from my DUKW. I have done a complete carpet search. I have cleaned both the desk and storage rack, and nothing. Granted this piece is about the size of the head of an ant. I've gone through my parts box looking hoping to find a replacment, I've come close but no exact matches. I've been on this project for two months, and I see it being lost because of a micro size piece of plastic. I need ideas. Is it historically possible that a DUKW crew would have replace a broken tail light housing with one from a different type of vehicle ? Any ideas?

Go to www.testors.com and fill out the parts replacement form. Depending on kit availability, you should have the part in under two weeks.

Yeah,
The folks at Testors customer service are amazing. I sent in a ten year old GP 100 airbrush body in August just to have them see if it could be fixed. I called them Monday and they told me they mailed me a new one on the 13th of September. I told them I never recieved it and they said, "Oh, well we will just send you another one. It will go out in the mail today, Mr. Keenan."
I don't think you will have a problem.

You have to stop modeling forever. Never again can you cut, glue or paint anything resembling plastic.
Perhaps leaving the contry would be a good idea.
Naaa, just kidding. Missing plastic parts is a royal pain in the b...

I hope you will find your missing part or get a new one.

years ago I lost an airfilter, for a 440 cu. chrysler engine. The car looks finished and has been on display for years, but to me it is never finished. everytime I look at that model, I always think of that airfilter.

Good luck in finding your missing tail light.

You could always model some damage to that area. Scratch the light shape to correspond to the other side and some cable ends! A burnt sienna pin wash in the area will give a rusty appearance. In my mind it would look good and be a natural enough damage probability!

I know how you guys feel, it always seems I lose a part, that if I can scratch a new piece for it, then I end up finding that part, then end up losing another part, that I can't scratch something for it, then I never do find that piece.

How many of you had to take apart your key board to your computer to get back some small pieces, you dropped in there?

Harry,

that f...ing part is not lost, it has just jumped to another dimension in time and space; or let's call it parallel universe I'm sure it is hanging around with Jesper's air filter and ALL the clear parts, I repeat ALL the clear parts of my 1/72 Lancaster.
Take it as a battle damage and keep your head up.

cheers
