I have a question, what is the Field Artillery Sergeant rank on Armorama. I looked in the rank info page but it wasn't on there, so is it like a by choice, or do you have to win something, or what?

Envar put in a special request to always be a sergeant no matter how many posts he makes. I believe that's what he was in the service.

Same as Chief, he also ask Jim to have it's actual Navy rank .

Maybe one day if Jim is not that busy, we can ask him really nicely to get us the rank of the army of our choice, i.e. if you like German armor, then you can pick German ranks, and if you like the Royal airforce, then you can get to be a RAF officer or something....

While I agree with your idea, my preference would be to limit this to currently used military ranks. I confess to some discomfort with the idea of Wehrmacht ranks on used on this site. Bundeswehr seems OK (I know a lot of them are the sinilar anyway), but I think we should steer clear of non-current ranks, if for no other reason than to avoid confusion (Sergent-Chef of the Mounted Drums....?). Some of them can get a little weird!

This is all assuming Jim can or will do it, which is up to him. I suspect it may create (another!) project, so he may not want to. Not sure I would blame him!

There is at least one more special rank coming when YodaMan reaches the magical 1000 posts.
Who knows, we may have an actual Jedi Knight among us soon...
