Looks like youre off to a great start. The weathering on the tank looks well. I also like the batle damage on the tank the shell holes are nicely done keep us posted on youre progress.

nice damaged stug there. One question though, what is with the jagged schurtzen bottoms? was that damage done before or after the tank was knocked out?

PS- Really like them, just wondering though.

well, with all the rubble and stuff on the street i guess it could get chipped off or bent? i dont know what the realistic theme is to the bent schaurzen bottums, i just thought it would add flavor and show more emotion that the tank has been through hell and back. thanks for the great comment.

That's a very nice start. I like the weathering too.

TsunamiBomb, did you melt the armor plates and bent it afterwards? Armor plates are quite thick (but not that thick) and they don't bend that way.

The best way to do it is to thin the plastic from the other side and bend it.

It would look better if you could sand the plastic near the bent ends of the armor plates so that it would look thinner.

Very good start.

ok thanks for the great opinion angela, ill try to sand it. the reason i did it was because i thought it would add more flavor in battle scars.

The skirts look great I like the shell hits,That skirt armour was not that thick so damage is not unusual, what Angela said is a good tip Just thin it down with a craft knife then bend with a round handle it looks very realistic.all the best

Just to add to what others said, side skirts although thick are made of soft steel, they could bend but not curl...just follow the advise of Angela and definitely it would improve your tank. With regards to weathering it looks very good.

Probably you could add some red primer color to some areas where there are chipped paints. German tanks are painted with red primer prior to the dark yellow base color....just my two cents...

Cheers

Tsunamibomb -
Really like the weathering and details. Definitely gives it that "hell and back" impression. I agree with Angela, Easy_Co, and Warthog on the schurtzen side armor and would add that having some missing and/or barely hanging on, more of a not so intact/lined up look that would add even more to that effect. Also would allow more of the weathering and vehicle detail to be seen. Good stuff and keep it going,

Well I wanted it to be really weathered because i wanted it to be a knocked out tank that was abandonned in mud. So ya you get the picture right?

It looks good, would like to see more pics a little clearer and back just a bit. Do you have a macro or detail mode on your digicam?

I like the weathering, but the silver looks a little bright for a knocked out tank. try blending your silver with raw umber or other dark browns and it will look like metal and not look too "shiny."

Hope this helps... Keep it up...
