Hi All,
Sorry if you have all seen this before.
While looking over academys new site I found this http://www.academy.co.kr/en2/new_item2.html
Right down the bottom of the page is a Marines M4A2.
Man am I glad to see another Sherman. Hopefully this will be a M4A2 that can be converted into Commonwealth Sherman III (?).
Does anyone know any more about this release?

Another Sherman.
Another Tiger.
I want a Sheridan.
I want a Duster.
Why-o-why, do we need the same old thing over and over. Please, someone, anyone, give me the cash to start a model company dedicated to releasing subjects that have not been done to death!
OK, I know all the reasons it won't work, I just needed to get that off my chest.
Thank you all very much for your time.

I've got to go with Chuck on this one. While the Sherman battle continues, it is safe to say that with the existing kits and available aftermarket items, you can probably make any Sherman variant that ever crawled the Earth.

I almost bought the old Tamiya Sheridan and Jaguar Sheridan tracks and suspension on Wednesday, but I'm holding out for a new tool kit. Same thing with the M3 Lee/Grant series.

Well, at least it is an Allied tank.

Like Chuck and Robin, I to would like to see some new kits that have been missing from the market for a long time. But on the other hand , I am fairly new to Armor modeling. And a lot of these kits that most of the long time armor gents are getting tired of seeing, I have never built before. So they are somthing new for me! It would be nice to have a balance of new relieses. I to am exited about getting a new tooled Sheridan, along with other Viet nam era vehicles. But for now, I am exited about Shermans to!

Cheers mates,

Garry

I would haft to vote with Gary, I don't have any of these, and the way I see it, the more they come out with in plastic, the less we haft to buy in resin. Which takes a big load off the wallet.

Andy, the illustration has been on Academy's page for months. I don't know why they can't give us a box-top illustration at least....Jim

Andy
Thanks for the link As far as that type bein made as a Commonwealth vehickle I doubt it From the looks of the pic I would say it's of the late A2 hull with the 47% glasis plate

Personally I am glad they are making the M4A2 in plastic finaly For too long it has been ignored by the kit makers I do see everyone elses opinion on all the new Sherman releases

True there are many conversion kits out there, but how many people can afford them? Not saying that to make anyone mad

I agree with all the comments said so far,
But my problem is I can't get enough of Shermans I love em.
Chuck I found this on PMMS and thought it may have been of interest to you.
AFV club are planning to release a M42 Duster in the future...........Yeah I know the future could mean anything from next year to 2050.

I saw that a while back Andrew. Academy has promised a new tooling of the Sheridan also.
I hope it's next year, cause I don't think I have another 45 years in me. :-)

It seems that a lot of companies do. Say something new is coming out but nothing materialises.

Personally I'm holding out for the DML kit. I know another Sherman but that's like saying ooh no another Ford or Chevy. The number of different combinations of Sherman configurations is mind numbing. You could make a modeling carrier out of doing them and still never have time to get to them all in a lifetime. As far as Academy promising new stuff all I can say is don't hold your breath. They had been promising an Israeli Centurion and a M728 CEV for years and nothing. The M728 all they have to do is like one sprue and it would be done if they used their M60 w/dozer. Nothing, they'll do one as soon as I fork out the dough for a resin one. Personally I say the more plastic the better just think of all the kit bashing projects.
