Hello, this is a combination C02 and water foam pumper its my first real effort at scratch building. The cab and chassis is the Italeri water truck. The body I made from sheet plastic and odds/ends. The hose reels are thread bobbins and the hose on them is phone wire. Italeri accessory set helped to round out some items. Hope you enjoy.

For a first effort this is really nice Brian. I like the finish, clean and undamaged, as airport vehicles hardly move. Wel done. What did you use for the two hose on the body side?

Cheers

Henk,
Thank you for the kind words. The hose was made from two different sizes of styrene tube. I used a punch die of the same size for the female couplings to glue it top the hose. I then used a drill bit slightly smaller the the "hose" to open the hose. An unexpected benefit was it left just enough of ring inside that it simulates the gasket used in real couplings. the male threads were created by stacking several punched discs and gluing them together and using drill bit to hollow them. I then painted the hose black and the couplings with brass color and washed it with black.

Looks great. You don't see too many military fire truck modles around. Excellent job.

Another good tip! I can't wait to get stuck in to my scratch projects. One will be an interior for the Jagdpanther Late, and I have just started on the M88A1.. I fancied a change from WWII I suppose. Sabot has some excellent pictures in his album which will be of great value to my M88 project. I'm waiting for my LHS to restock on plasticard etc. to start.
Anything in the pipeline for you?

Cheers
Henk

That's a nice looking model, don't see too many military emergency vehicles being done.

I want to thank everyone for the encouragement, I really enjoyed building this model. I sorry the pictures still came out a little dark (seems like no matter how much light I have they always turn out dark). Henk you asked if I have anything in the pipeline well I do have an M5A1 and a couple of left over German Infantry from another project that might combine for a viginette. But here is something I want to tackle, take a look at this photo from http://www.firetrucks-atwar.com/
I thought it would be a nice diorama.

Thanks again
Brian

Very nice work. Now you could get the Italeri Dodge Ambulance, the Tamiya Jeep amphib, anf scratch a wrecker, and do your Dio. With the skill you have shown so far, I'm sure you could do it.
Thanks for sharing the pics Brian.
