Anybody know if the ARNG still uses the M106?

Thanks,

Paul,
I believe all NG and Reserve units have transitioned to the M1064A3 Self-propelled 120mm Mortar. You can convert an M106 using aftermarket 120mm mortar tube and building new interior ammo lockers. I haven't done it, but it doesn't look too difficult. You would also have to change drivers' station to an A3 with steering yoke. Also needs external fuel tank. I would combine interior parts and roof section from Tamiya M106 and hull from Academy A2 version with the external fuel tanks. Sounds like a good project.

I can't find any interior shots of the M1064A3. I bet our resident mortar expert, KKeefe would be able to help you out though.

Actually I'm looking for interior shots of the M106. I guess my best hope is the one down at Camp Mabry in Austin.
