hey, i'm trying to figure out how to order new airbrush nozzle for my aztek 470 double action. i need the red and tan nozzle. i thought i cleaned it well enough one day, and now the tan one doesnt even spray, and the red one shoots paint out for a second then it all bubbles up in the paint cup! i've thinned the paint enough so i know thats not the problem.

ahh

You may have already tried this. Disassemble the tan nozzle. There are three pieces. Nozzle body, inner nozzle sleeve and needle/spring. Clean all parts especially the inner nozzle sleeve. Paint can build up inside. Typically if the nozzle does not spray at all it is because the needle is stuck in the inner sleeve.

As for the red tip spitting and bubbling back in the cup, this usually means the nozzle is not tight enough.

Hope this helps.

No it won't break they are pretty strong....but if you are unsure, you can soak the needle and spring in some thinner to loosen the paint up....clean it with an old toothbrush or something of the link, and you should be good as new.....try soaking the inner sleeve as well as the paint can build up in there as well, I use pipe cleaners to clean that part.

Hi Shain: I have just recently started taking my Aztek nozzles apart and they are pretty sturdy, I don't think you need to worry about breaking it. After scrubbing with an old toothbrush in soap and water, I soak all three parts: outer nozzle, inner sleeve and needle/spring in Modelmaster's acryl cleaning solution over night after using. It is sold in a 4 or 6 ounce clear squeeze bottle. This has really improved the perfromance of the airbrush.

i got fed up of all those nozles, i got so much problems not beign able to spray properly that i followed my dads advice and bought one out of metal, a real one, so i now have the badger 150... havnt had no problems! its super easy to clean, as easy as the 470 if not easier. only thing i prefere are the bottles from aztek.

okay, phew, the red one didnt break, thought it did, but it wasnt hard to clean at all, the only reason i had a hard time getting the spring assembly out cuz it was the dried paint that 'glued' it to the sides. so there is no problem anymore and i can now airbrush!
