Hi,
I have just asked this question in one of my replies in another post but thought I would specifically ask it here also
I am building the Tamiya 1/16 Pershing R/C kit, have all of it assembled, with all metal and scratchbuilt parts primed with Humbrol brush on primer.
I have given the turret its first initial coat of Tamiya spray AS-6, this is the first time I have used this stuff and it has reacted terribly with any parts that were painted with primer especially the intricate scratchbuilt parts which are going to be almost impossible to rub down again
Any ideas why, or what I can do about this now, as I have the chassis and top hull all waiting for spray with primer on all the parts that needed it!?
EDIT~ I have just noticed that the barrel and mods to it have not reacted, even though they are painted in the same primer and overcoat!...most odd!

I think you've got a major problem, majorproblem...
I've had paint react differently from time to time, but not on some parts of a model only...I've been looking for a solution for you bud, but none yet...

My guess is that its because the turret is thicker than the rest of the model because most companys just make the turret as one big piece rather than one you have to stick together.

Thanks guys.
I have no idea either!
The gun is aluminium, the bore evacuator was scratched out of brass and brass rod and the muzzle break was cut and filled Tamiya plastic, all painted with the same primer, and none of it reacted with the paint.
Yet other places of the turret and scratchbuilt plasticard and rod, which were painted with the primer all reacted with the spray paint!?
I took a chance and sprayed the chassis today, (before going to work) again it had all the diecast metal suspension arms, drive sprockets, etc all primed the same and only some parts of them reacted with the spray?!
Its got me baffled, I can only think it may be that some arears of the primer did not bond too well to the metal and it is those parts which are lifting like orange peel when the spray is added to them.
I have recently come to hate Humbrol paint, you can never trust it to do its job properly nowadays
