Oh Man this is so crappy of dragon!
i would have expected tons better ! there are that many maus and e-100 kits now on e-bay they must have re-released them ?
so why the heck cant they just sodding well get one out of the effing cupboard and ship the part?
i had a similar problem with them too over thier panther /d kursk and i got a turret from a sheman?????? ho hum! good luck with the kit mate
i plan on doing a "b" too should be awsome!
i just need to find out a few things ? is the turret deffo just theory no existing drawings etc... ?
i suppose it would be just educated guess work then ?
FUN!!!!!

I'm hardly an expert on the E100, but from what I understand, it was expected to use the turret from the MAUS Heavy Tank. Whether or not that was stop-gap I do not know

Hey Steve,

Got the turret in the mail today (wife called me at work to say a box arrived, "Have you bought something off of the Internet and not told me?"). This shows the beauty of the Internet (its not all porn!) and this community in particular. Many, many thanks Steve, you are a asset to this community. If there is anything I can do, do not hesitate to ask!

Regards,

Mike

One tip, when assembling the sprockets have some track ready to help square them up.

Just to final update this. Dragon sent the replacement turret, the compromise Henschel King Tiger. I had half-hoped they would send the entire turret; cupola, hatches, manlet, etc. Of course they didn't (hence I pre-empted this by contacting Steve and him sending me his spare E100 turret). Dragon simply sent me the turret shell for a King Tiger. So ultimately there was little I could do with it. Not sure what to think of their customer service. I guess I should have been more aggressive. Oh well, Dragon's mediocre to poor customer service is supplanted by the superior comminuty support here at Armorama! One could say Armorama is Dragon's customer support...at least in my case.

Don't count them out too soon.
I had problems, admittedly with a newer kit, but I got an entire A sprue sent from Hong Kong (with HK$ 50+ in postage, I dunno how much US that is, but still...)
2 weeks after I got the single replacement part from Dragon US in California.

There may be an entire sprue in the mail to you from HK even as we type.

But I second your thoughts on the community here. Whatta great bunch of folks!

I'm not holding my breath. If you follow this thread, you will see that their initial response was meerly, "Oh, that kit's out of production, sorry...try Ebay!" Only after I prompted them to look into acquiring the MAUS turret ("oh, that's out of production too, sorry...try Ebay!") and then the King Tiger turret (I asked for the Porsche, they said they could send the Henschel--so ultimately I only got what they wanted to send me) did they actually do anything. Dragon was very reluctant to actually do anything after I lodged the initial complaint and they ascertained the kit was out of production. In my mind that is bad customer service! So I guess that's my conclusion. No, Dragon's customer service wasn't mediocre, it was well below par.

I had a similar problem with Dragon customer service. I was missing a few 'generic' Mk IV parts, common to all versions, from a late Stug IV model. I gave them the sprue and parts numbers and they told me that model was OOP. I then told them to send me similar parts from any Mk IV model. They told me only two(?) of my wanted parts were available. I told them to send them as it was better than nothing. When the parts arrived they were completely wrong parts. @##%*~+*#!!!

Hmmm, good idea. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone who has built both kits? Also, what's the kit no for the MAUS kit? You would think their people would be aware of this and I wouldn't have to point it out to them...

I had both the Maus and E-100 (kept the Maus and eBayed the E-100. They had the same turret. Yep, both Dragon kits. The Maus kit is is #6007.

well ok, after a quick googling and currency converter 50 HK$ = US$ 6.50, but even still. They sent the entire A sprue from Hong Kong AFTER the US DML folks had sent just the part.

As for the kit being OOP, yeah, I agree. "Try ebay" is a pretty cheesy answer from the manufacturer of a defective product.

I heard the same thing for a BRDM part. But at that time they had the BRDM listed as part of the boxtop madness sale.

I finally told them to go out back and get a box and open it and get me my parts. But it took several letters and finally a phone call.

is it really discontinued? dang gotta buy from Squadron quick!
has any one else experienced this problem?

I also had a case with Dragon when I sent about 7 E-mails, got 3 back, and solved the problem with a 3 minute call.

I just checked Hobby Easy and they show both the
Maus 6007 for $21.17 CAD and the E-100 6011 for $24.54 CAD just in case anyone is still looking for these kits.

Does anyone know if Dragon plans on retooling these kits with their new technology?

Curious if I should buy the old kits or wait for the new kits?
