Hi all
As i seem to have quite a bit of time on my hands while i wait for my visa,i was having a boiled egg yesterday ...i can hear you all laughing and i started to think of a use for the shell as we do!!.
I was thinking that if seald with a diluted form of pva glue it could be used to represent plaster falling off walls and cielings in battle damaged buildings, perhaps iam going to experiment could be good for i think 1/35 and larger scale dios my Mrs thinks iam bonkers but there we go nothing new.

Lol! And yes, maybe it would work, provided that the shells were grinded into much smaller pieces

Thought it would make you laugh i think for 100m/and90m it would create quite a good effect having restored quite a few houses in my life i think the egg shell concept could work when i get a new battery for my digital cam i will try a few different ways lol lol and post them

The way I create fallen plaster is simple... just smear some plaster of paris inside of a plastic container. Letit dry completely, and then press the sides of the container. Fine thin sheets of plaster pop out and can be further crushed with your thumb!
Eggshell sounds scary.... while a unique idea, even with the coat of PVA, I think it might eventually begin to decay.

I would think that because of the constant radii of an egg shell, that you would never be able to get a flat piece big enough.
I would tend to go with Keith's idea as although I have never modeled a plaster wall, I do come across the 'flakes' that he mentions everytime I mix up some Sculptamold and the remnants dry in the plastic mixing 'bowl'.
Also, I have a problem with using 'food stuiffs' anywhere with my models. (Bugs, mold etc over time...)

I can envision the pieces falling off.....
My concern would be that the membrane holding the pieces together wouldn't last a long time..... I guess though if the PVA coats the entire thing you'd be fine.
You know- the only way to know it to just do it!
